Darryl Goldman

Darryl Goldman is a retired US Army Chaplain and retired Presbyterian minister. His love of painting goes back to a very early age, but his ministry career came first—until he retired! Then he picked up his brushes and never looked back. Although he paints a variety of motifs, from Wisconsin farms to fishing boats to marine life and people doing extraordinary things, he says his primary subject is really the same—the light. "I paint the light as the leading actor in all my paintings," he said. "Humans naturally seek the light because light is warmth and clarity and hope."
If you would like a sneak peek of Darryl's work, his exhibit "Florida Living" will be at Island Gallery and Studios on Old Main Street in Bradenton throughout the month of March, with an artist reception on March 7, 5-7pm.
On Friday, Darryl will be featuring some of his "Old Bradenton" paintings that will eventually be a series of five, showing Bradenton scenes from 1920, 1930 and others through 1960.
